How to Use OneSearch: Basic Search

Step 1: Enter your Search Terms

From the library's home page; click on OneSeach tool; type your search terms into the search box; and you will be redirected to the results page.

Step 2: Refine your Search

Check how many results you have on the left of the search screen

1. Too many results? Use the limiters on the left to narrow down your research (please see below)

OneSearch Limiters:

Full Text Online: to find items only available in full-text online.

Scholarly and peer-reviewed: to Limit to items from peer reviewed publications.

Content type: to choose the sources type: journal, book, ebook, article, newspaper article, data set, archival materials etc.

Publication Date: to limit results to a date range.

Discipline: to narrow your search to a particular discipline.

Subject terms: to narrow your search to a particular topic.

Language: to choose the content's language.

Sort by (next to results number): to re-order your result list by: Relevance, Date-newest, Date-oldest, Author or Title.

2. Too few results? Try modifying your search.

Remove some words or try a simpler, broader search.

Tip: if you get no results check for typo mistakes.

3. Enough results? Let's get started

Explore your Results

Accessing the items in your results list:

  • Click on "check availability" of a print book to borrow it or to place a hold.

  • Click eBook Full Text to read an e-book.

  • For other types such as journal articles, entries in Dictionaries, newspapers articles etc. click: Full Text online,  Available online to be redirected to their content.
